Team (2019)
Curling
They have 175 years of curling experience, but in 2012, Rae Wilson, Linda Delver, Audrey Crosson and Merle Kopach get together for the first time. They hit it big.
Kopach's rink from the Granite Club wins the provincial women's masters title for age 60 and over in Whitewood.
They keep on rolling at nationals in Boucherville, QC. They go 7-2 in the round robin. They beat Northern Ontario in the semifinal. Trailing Ontario in the final, the Saskatchewan crew of Wilson at lead, Delver at second, Crosson at third and Kopach at skip scores three in the fifth end and four in the seventh to win the 2012 Canadian title.
In 2013 they win their second provincial title and are third at nationals.
The beat goes on in 2014. Janet Rooks joins the Kopach rink to play lead. They defeat Saskatoon's Lee Morrison, a former Canadian master champion, for the provincial title in Weyburn.
At nationals in Coaldale, AB., Kopach's rink has a scattered round robin, going 5-4, then raises its game in the playoffs. They defeat Alberta in a tiebreaker and B.C. in the semifinal. In the final, Kopach breaks open a tie game against Ontario with four in the fourth end. Saskatchewan wins the 2014 Canadian master's championship, the second title in three years for Delver, Crosson and Kopach.
