CIAU National Women's Volleyball Champions

With a good nucleus from the previous year's champions, the University of Saskatchewan Huskiettes women's volleyball team maintained its championship form during the 1979-80 season. They went through Canada West play with a record of 16 straight victories.

There was added incentive when the national finals were awarded to Saskatoon and the Huskiettes responded by stretching their season's record to 21 victories and one loss. The only setback came at the hands of the Ottawa GeeGees in a preliminary round at the nationals but they gained revenge by beating Ottawa in the final, 15-7, 17-15, 8-15 and 15-6.
