In the 1969 season, the Saskatoon Hilltops and the Regina Rams ended the regular season with six wins and two losses.

The league went back to the two-game total-point final, with the Rams winning the first game 7-3 and the Hilltops winning game two by a score of 20-14 and the round 23-21. The Hilltops captured the western title by beating the Edmonton Wildcats 39-17. The Regina Leader Trophy stayed in the West, thanks to a Hilltop victory over the Ottawa Sooners 28-7.
