Bedford Road Invitational Tournament

When you say BRIT, you are talking tradition. The Bedford Road Invitational Tournament is going into its 45th year.
What started in November of 1968 for the nine high school boys basketball teams in Saskatoon has become a feature event every January.
BRIT has teams from across Canada plus an international flavour. In its history, BRIT has been won by a team from New York City and Sydney, Australia.
The championship on Saturday night is played before a packed house at Bedford Road. The gym is decorated with big wall panels drawn by students. Half-time includes 1-on-1 competition for Grade 9 and 10 players, as well as entertainment ranging from dancers to gymnasts.
The cheerleading competition is a sellout.
Students, staff and alumni at Bedford make BRIT one of the longest running and respected high school tournaments in Canada.
For spectators in Saskatoon, BRIT is a highlight on the sports calendar. In developing basketball, BRIT is huge.
