Sharon Tkachuk has been a track and field official for 43 years and counting.
She was the chief track referee at the 2001 world championships in Edmonton. She has officiated at three Commonwealth Games, the World Student Games and the Pan American junior championships.
Nationally, she has been to Canadian junior and senior championships, the Canadian Interuniversity championships and the ParAthletic championships for athletes with disabilities.
Tkachuk has been an official at three Canada Summer Games. She works the annual K of C Indoor Games. She does the city and provincial high school championships.
She served on the national council on Fitness and Amateur Sport, the board of Saskatchewan Athletics and the Bob Adams Foundation.
Sharon has coached high school teams to provincial titles in volleyball and track and field. She also coached baseball, basketball and curling in high school.
As an athlete, Tkachuk won a provincial high school curling championship with Meath Park. Her father introduced her to curling when he was caretaker of a two-sheet rink.
