Soccer

Percy Hoff's involvement in soccer goes coast to coast in Canada.

A native of Ubombo, South Africa, Hoff's association with soccer in Saskatchewan began in 1987 when he started the Valley Soccer Association in Warman. In 1994 he moved from Warman to Saskatoon and became the Director of Coaching and Player Development of the Hollandia Soccer Club, a position he still holds with the club.

Hoff has been actively involved with the Saskatchewan Soccer Association since 1991, coaching Provincial teams at under 13, 14, 15 and 17 teams at All-Star Nationals for more than twenty years. He also continues to deliver coach education for the Canadian Soccer Association as a qualified NCCP Learning Facilitator.

Hoff has coached at three Canada Games, twice with Saskatchewan men's teams and once with Northwest Territories. He had also coached the Saskatchewan men's teams at two Western Canada Games and has assisted with the preparation on the Canada Men's Under 17 team for the World Cup on two occasions.

He was the Head Coach of the University of Saskatchewan Huskies men's program for four years, being named as conference coach of the year once. He has also coached several Hollandia teams at Nationals, earning three fourth place finishes and the Provinces only bronze medal at Women's Club Nationals.

Hoff continues his soccer education, having graduated from the University of Delaware's Master of Coaching program in January of 2016, and runs the ASTRA Soccer Academy which prepares young players for high performance programs. In March of 2016, the Canadian Soccer Association recognized Hoff's contribution to the development of the game in Canada, awarding him the President's Award and the Merit Award.
