Len BellLen Bell umpired at every baseball level, from minor leagues to provincial playoffs and tournaments in Saskatoon from 1968 to 1992.

He was instrumental in the formation of the Saskatoon District Umpires Association and served with the Saskatchewan Baseball Association, spending a six-year term as supervisor of umpires. He served on Baseball Canada's national umpires committee for five years and helped develop the plan for a national training program.

He umpired at 11 national championship tournaments and was umpire supervisor for seven national championships, including two in Saskatoon. He umpired at the world youth championship at Kindersley in 1984, the Pacific Cup at Kindersley in 1986, the Pan-American Games at Indianapolis in 1987, the Intercontinental at Edmonton in 1989 and was supervisor at the world youth finals at Brandon in 1991.
