Henk RuysFor more than 30 years Henk has devoted much time and energy to the sport of soccer. As a player, he represented both Saskatoon and Saskatchewan on All-Star teams. When the sport went indoors, he was still good enough to win the scoring title. He has been a coach, and official and an administrator. He has held many positions on the local, provincial and national levels.

Henk was a founding member of both the Saskatoon Minor Soccer Association and the Canadian Minor Soccer Association. Since 1981, even though he was secretary-treasurer of the Saskatoon and Saskatchewan Associations, he still gave his time to the Senior Amateur committee of the Canadian Association.

In 1980, he was named Kinsmen Sportsman of the Year and was honoured by the Canadian Youth Association for outstanding achievements. Local and provincial awards also came his way. Century Saskatoon honoured him in 1982. In 1986 he was inducted into the Saskatchewan Hall of Fame.
