Basketball

Bob Stayner Bob has spent much of his life in sports, mainly in basketball and softball. After many years as a player, Stayner went into administration, starting as an executive member of the Saskatoon Senior Men's Basketball League.

In 1959, Bob coached the Adilman Aces to the Canadian Senior Women's Basketball Championship. The club then represented Canada at the Pan-American Games in Chicago. In 1963, Stayner coached the Saskatoon Aces to another Canadian women's title. Both of his clubs are in the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame.

In 1968, Bob turned his attention to fastball. He coached the Saskatoon Imperials to the Canadian Senior women's title. In 1976, he organized the Harmony Centre fastball team and coached them to three straight years as provincial champions. The 1978 team also won the Canadian championship and then represented Canada in the Pan-American Games in 1979 in Puerto Rico.

Bob has also assisted the Saskatoon Hilltops and the Saskatoon Quaker Senior Hockey club.

He was inducted into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame in 1980.
