Volleyball

Called one of the best power hitters in the world, Stabner played on the Canadian standing volleyball team for 12 years.

Canada became the first non-European nation to win the world championship in 2002, defeating the host Polish team in five sets in the best-of-five final.

Stabner added a second world title with Canada two years later in Germany.

His highlight package includes winning silver at the 2000 Paralympics in Australia, a World Cup silver in 2003 and World Cup gold in 2005 in Regina.

Stabner began playing volleyball in high school with Kinistino. He was captain of the team that won the provincial championship. He won a silver at the Canadian club championships with the Prince Albert Toppers juvenile team, where he was asked to join the national standing team. He also played for the University of Regina Cougars, making the starting lineup his rookie year. Stabner attributes his love for team sport to his successes in life. He is now working on giving back to his sport, by getting involved with coaching todays youth.
