Gord Barwell had a hand in the first Grey Cup title won by the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
The split end from Saskatoon was in his third year with the Riders, who defeated the Ottawa Rough Riders 29-14 in 1966 at Empire Stadium in Vancouver.
Barwell signed with the Riders in 1964 when he was 19, making him the youngest player in the CFL.
He played for the Riders for 10 years after one season with the Saskatoon Hilltops. In addition to winning the CFL title, he was in the Grey Cup three other times.
Barwell scored 32 touchdowns in his career with Saskatchewan.
He passed away in 1988.
