Peggy Robb Mueller

Margaret (Peggy) Robb Mueller was a Saskatoon speed skater who achieved international stature in 1956 and 1960. She was third in the North American championships at West Allis, Wisconsin, in 1956 and was a member of the Canadian team, participating in the women's 500, 1,000, 1,500 and 3,000 metre races at the 1960 Winter Olympic Games at Squaw Valley, California.

The trip to the Olympics capped a career in which she won Saskatchewan championships four times, Alberta titles five times and Canadian championships in various age groups seven times.

Margaret was also an outstanding athlete at the University of Saskatchewan, winning a major athletic plaque in 1964 for participation on six inter-varsity teams. She also won the Spirit of Youth award in 1964, recognizing her leadership, sportsmanship, academic ability, character and all-around physical fitness.

At the University, she was a four-year starter for the Huskiettes basketball team and was a second team all-star in a 1963 tournament at Lethbridge.

Margaret was also Saskatchewan's diving champion, 1960 through 1962, and during her high school days at Nutana Collegiate, won the Evans trophy, emblematic of sportsmanship, leadership and academic achievement as top graduating female in 1960.
