CANADIAN WOMEN’S CURLING CHAMPIONS
Curling out of the Hub
City Curling Club, the 1961 McKee team successfully defended their
Saskatoon City and Northern Provincial titles, advancing to the
Provincial final in North Battleford. In the best-of-three games in the
final, the McKee foursome lost their initial game, then won two straight
11-7, 11-4, to retain the provincial title for a second consecutive
year.
With this victory, the
McKee team earned the right to represent Saskatchewan at the first
Dominion Diamond “D” classic, the official ladies Curling Championship,
at the Ottawa Hunt Golf and Curling Club. The McKee foursome swept
through the competition with a perfect 9-0 record, defeating each of the
other provincial representatives.
