Paralympics (2011)
Heather Kuttai has competed in two Olympic games, several World Championships and one European championship as a Paralympic athlete in rifle and pistol target shooting. She began her career as a marksman at 15, coached by her father, George Kuttai, a lifelong competitor. She made the National team for the first time at 17 years of age. She won two silver medals in air pistol at the 1988 Paralympics in Seoul, Korea. She earned a silver medal in air pistol at the 1990 World Championships in Holland. Then at the 1992 Paralympics in Barcelona, she got a bronze medal in air pistol and moved from eighth to sixth in the mixed men's and women's three-position air rifle event, something she considers a career highlight. She also won gold in air pistol at the International Air Gun Grand Prix in Toronto in 2000, gold at the International Maple Leaf Open in Edmonton and silver at the International Grand Prix in Toronto in 2003. She has since become a coach for people with and without disabilities.
